"Tom Donavan has been my agent with State Farm for many years. When I bought a camper, we had Tom insure it for us. We had an accident with the camper recently 120 miles from home. Stephanie at Tom’s office told me how the filing process works and explained what to expect. Stephanie gave me the contact information I needed and also followed up with my claim to make sure things were going smoothly. The camper was classified as totaled. My claim specialist scheduled the pickup of the camper. She also took care of the paperwork and settled my claim for me. I couldn’t be happier than I am with how my situation was handled."

"They were fine until they priced me out. Now with Progressive for 3 cars, for the price that State Farm was charging me for 2 of them. Emailed Tom Donovan once and called twice to cancel the policy and never heard back. I found a way through the State Farm customer service system that didn't involve being transferred to an agent, and they took care of the policy cancelation in about 2 minutes. I didn't get a call back until I was done with the customer service rep. I understand it isn't fun to lose a customer, but it's also not fun to try and cancel a policy and hit brick walls, presumably because they want another day or two of premiums that they don't want to refund. Edit: checked online the day after the policy was supposedly canceled and it still shows as active with a payment still scheduled. Ridiculous that I will have to spend even more time on this. Another Edit: Online, it still shows "AutoPay Scheduled" for the premiums."

"if I could leave 0 stars, that would be more appropriate. WARNING! State Farm will throw you under the bus! We have been with State Farm since the 1990's at Carla Gerhardt's location in Monroe. When she retired, this branch took over. We recently returned from our vacation and I was finishing the laundry; the last load gave us the problem; the water inlet sensor malfunctioned and the water kept coming. I turned off the machine( a 4 year old LG) to no avail, I had to turn off the water line which was the only way to stop the flow. Needless to say, we had a great deal of water that ended up ruining the carpeting and went under the floor boards. We cleaned it up with our shop vac as best we could. Then we contacted State Farm and ended up filing a claim. The appraisal was over $8,000 but State Farm could only give us $3000. CAVEAT EMPTOR! Buyer beware. Who knows what Tom was doing, we never heard from him. If this had been Carla's office, we would have been taken care of."
